Ohh maaaaan, I just read Eien no WITH and it's one of the saddest manga I've ever read T__T
Contrary to popular belief, this manga is about a girl and a guide-dog, not shoujo, not even shounen. (Welll, it might have the tiniest shoujo aspects in it)
It's just a one-shot, but it made me cry so much! I was crying bucket of tears, literally!
Though the art wasn't excellent in the first "chapter", the sequel chapters were much better drawn. (Due to the mangaka drawing the first one in like year 199# and second and third one much later than that [200#])
This reminds me of a Japanese movie called "Quill", which is also about a guide-dog (of his life at least)
Daaaaang, that movie made me cry tooo ToT
Anyways..
Summary:
Hitomi, with her father always at work and her mother who pays more attention to her baby brother, she has always felt alone. As she is very timid, she has no friends either. Therefore, Hitomi decides one day to volunteer to raise a guide-dog for a year, before the dog undergoes the real training after the year with her is up.
So during that time, she and Eye (the dog) really bonded; Hitomi really became more outgoing and likeable to others due to the moral support of Eye. However, when it comes time to part, it doesn't look as easy as it seems...
I highly highly recommend this! I've uploaded it here:
