So [info]jenzay came to UBC today <3
It was a lot of fun to hang out, with Aaron too. It's really been a while since I've seen either of them~ XD

Oh, and just for the sake of amusement, I will link to this 2_lines post I made earlier :3
The comments made me lol, but [the 2_lines entry] is true .__.;;

Hmm~~ Looks like I haven't really gushed about 07-Ghost, even though I've been pretty obsessed with it *reprimands self*

And with the release of chapter 31... > 3< I'm getting excited even just thinking about it <3

07-Ghost [SPOILERS ~Chapter 31] )

So yeah~ I already downloaded chapter 61 of Psyren a couple days ago, but I'm feeling anxious reading it XDD
Psyren makes my anxiety level run so high, so I figured I'll save it for the weekend XD
Oh, and newest chapter of Fairy Tail too~ Gotta read that sooooon :3

SideNote: I just realized that Chapter 31 of 07-Ghost was only just released a few hours ago! I'm surprised to catch an update so soon lol~

This week is making me more and more tired and depressed.

Though, I shouldn't complain, since I should've studied more...

He says I'm racist because I said that since he's Caucasian, that he might not like our (asian) taste.
It's funny to see that I was right, after he tried it.

--Posted at [info]2_lines

But that by itself irked me. I don't say it because I'm racist. Hell, I live in a -Canadian- city, I'm totally out-numbered by the amount of western people.
However..
I have heard, I've seen, I -know- so.
I -know- that some caucasians just aren't familiar with asian food and tastes, and vice-versa.
And, I'm ok with that. I never said that everyone should like every single food/taste in the world.
But calling me racist because of that? That's cruel.

Let me give an example:
In Taiwan, many people drink soy milk -and- they like it. I know many caucasians (not excluding other ethnics) don't like it. That's fine with me.
So if I warned a caucasian friend "Oh, you might not like it because you're caucasian (therefore your tastes are different)," knowing well from experience that other caucasians I've met don't like it.. Is that racist? Or just generalizing?

Another example. Bubble Tea with pearls.
Many people don't like pearls. The only reason I say caucasians won't like it is because I know from experience, and I know they're obviously not used to eating tapioca-like (soft and squishy, sometimes no taste) material.

Fine, so it's wrong for me to jump to that conclusion--that most won't like it.
-But-, the difference is, is that I -want- them to like it, to accept it.
If they like it, that makes -me- happier.
And to save myself from disappointment, I prepare myself for them not liking it.
Is that wrong? Am I being racist by that?

My jumping to this conclusion would be like people saying "All asians are smart."
One, that depends on the student.
Two, it is because in the asian society, the emphasis on education is a lot stronger (or at least a bigger ratio of citizens put higher emphasis on education than those in a western society).
Therefore if all western schools were strict and competitive like the ones from (let's say...) Japan, then there will never be the comment "All asians are smart."

Ok, I've run out of things to say since I totally lost my point.
Go ahead and get mad. Argue.
But at least I feel better now
